I Don't Wear A Chastity Belt

Share

All I could remember from last Sunday was the good weather, my boyfriend left Penang and an interesting article in The Star newspaper that caught my attention.

It was a two-page article with colourful illustrations that further clarify and provide statistical prove to the writings. The headline read: Most youth don’t want to have pre-marital sex. (Click here for online article). Somehow, I find it hard to believe as cases of abandoned babies are on the rise in Malaysia. Skeptical, I read on. While it is true that about 46.5% answered in an online survey saying that they would only have sex when they were married, those who have had it, recording at a shocking 64.2% admitted that they have had sex without protection or any form of birth control before. With that, I conclude that the majority of the survey candidates were virgins and those who have had sexual intercourse were idiots.

Alright, let’s analyse this bit of information and hopefully you could digest it the same way I did.

1.  46.5% said they wouldn’t have pre-marital sex
So, wouldn’t that mean that these candidates were virgins at the time of answering the survey. Would a non-virgin have given the same answer? Go figure.

2.  64.2% said they have had sex without contraception
Why I call them idiots? Simple. Since they were able to answer the survey, it means they are educated. And if they are educated, don’t tell me they don’t know what a condom or birth control pill is. They were either wimps for being too shy to purchase a pack of Durex from 7/11 or got too excited when they were at it till they forgot about being safe. Either way, they’re still idiots. If they were so brave to have intercourse without thinking twice about the consequences, don’t tell me they didn’t have the guts to purchase a pack of condoms which doesn’t cost much than to regret the rest of their lives when it’s too late.

Nobody can stop one from having pre-marital sex if they intend to. But if you decide so, at least be wise enough to take necessary precaution. This message is in support of World Contraception Day’s mission in improving awareness of contraception to enable young people to make informed decisions on sexual and reproductive health.

Hereby, I would love to wish everyone Happy Contraception Day! May the women be protected from unwanted pregnancies and the men be protected from regretting their actions.
